Some of you may remember the Fiction Project that I have been taking part in through the Art House Co-op and Brooklyn Art Library. For those of you who don’t, the project involved artists from around the world hand-writing and illustrating short fiction stories that will then tour across the United States to various art galleries. Each set of artists was working on a specific theme. Mine was it’s raining cats and dogs.
My completed book will be professionally digitized and available online in future, but for the time being I thought I’d share a few images with you. I took the opportunity to play with a range of techniques. The book involves everything from sun prints, to black-out newspapers in the style of Austin Kleon, to 3D imagery cut into a set of bound together pages. The entire project was an experiment that I enjoyed immensely. And now it’s time to move onto my new Art House Co-op project; creating a sketchbook on the theme of hope as part of the 2012 Sketchbook Project.
