For those of you who aren’t yet familiar with Brit & Co you should really check them out. They’re an online media and e-commerce platform that provides tools to teach, inspire, and enable creativity among women and girls. From traditional crafts to high-tech manufacturing, they connect millions of users with makers, designers, chefs, and inventors, together building a community of creativity. I’ve been a fan of their site for a long time so I jumped at the chance to host a party for them as part of their Brit Co-Op Program when they asked.
For the party Brit & Co teamed up with Timex to create awesome Brit Kits to embroider watch straps. Once the girls got over their shock that they were being given free watches, they got really excited to create their own unique designs for their new watches. Some went geometric, some worked with words, and some went with symbols. Everyone came out with something they were really excited and proud of.
We teamed our crafting up with homemade mojitos created with fresh mint from my garden and home canned salsa and chips (which reminded me that I need to get on my fall canning). Everyone had a great time. Thanks so much Brit & Co and Timex for a great night – we really appreciate it!
