One of Inara’s favourite books at the moment is the Balloon Tree. The story involves a young girl saving her Kingdom from an evil duke by planting a balloon beneath a tree and using a set of magic words to cause an enormous amount of balloons to blossom from the trees branches. Inara has the magic words firmly memorized: “moon balloon, moon balloon, tickle the tree, four balloons, more balloons, blossom for me.”
For day four of DiNovember the dinosaurs decided to create their own balloon tree using Icabod (the ficus monstera plant Tyler and I have had for 17 years). The results have ensured that Inara believes in magic (and may have caused some temporary damage to my ear drums from the process of blowing up that many water balloons, which it turns out are not really designed to be blown up).
