The 12 Days of Christmas started on Friday at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre. I have a display set up in partnership with fused glass artist, Aimee Ellis. I have prints, art cards, pins, magnets, necklaces featuring original artworks, and original canvases and matted ink and watercolour paintings. I thought you might like a few glimpses of some of the new work that was created for the show.
For the final day of DiNovember the dinosaurs decorated the house for Christmas (except for the tree) and brought home a new friend to join their ranks. They didn’t get a lot of sleep last night but feel it was worth it for Inara’s reaction this morning.
The dinosaurs prepared a donation for the food bank this morning. Inara was super impressed with their use of “her” skateboard (Tyler has had to accept that the longboard no longer belongs to him) and got pretty excited when she realized that it’s almost time to start her food bank advent calendar.
The dinosaurs managed to break into the fridge this morning. Spinosaurus and the raptors headed straight for the eggs, cheese and meat; while Stegosaurus and Triceratops were working on the tomatoes and cucumbers; and T-Rex was focused on the wine. Inara pulled them out when she found them – not because she was worried about them stealing all the food, but because she was worried about them getting hypothermia.
The dinosaurs have been planning this heist for a while. They rigged up a serious set of ropes to break into the kitchen cupboard and make off with the bag of chocolate coins (Inara’s favourite special treat – which makes sense since she is a pirate). Inara was so impressed with their ingenuity that she hasn’t even tried to stop them.
The dinosaurs made pizza this morning – luckily in Inara’s kitchen, not mine. They were quite enthusiastic about it, although I’m uncertain how some of the fruit they started to cut up will go with the rest of their creation (kiwi on pizza is not for everyone I imagine).
