The dinosaurs took a break from their antics today to pay their respects for Remembrance Day. Obviously Inara doesn’t really understand the concept, but she did get that her dinosaurs were thinking about people who had gone away and she had us read her “In Flanders Fields” a few times, which is more than I expected at her age.
Inara gave her dinosaurs a stern talking to this morning when she came downstairs to discover that they were trying to capture Spot, her puppy, in a box trap. She quickly rescued Spot and made the dinosaurs promise never to do something like this again.
One of Inara’s favourite books at the moment is the Balloon Tree. The story involves a young girl saving her Kingdom from an evil duke by planting a balloon beneath a tree and using a set of magic words to cause an enormous amount of balloons to blossom from the trees branches.
